Month of May

What an exhausting month we've had!

Cascade Elementary had their traditional Dance Festival and it was fun to see Haili's 5th grade class perform.

DSC had a rock'n 80's party at Classic Skating. I had no problem ratting these bangs out and using a gallon of hairspray.

It seems like yesterday, I was doing my hair this very same way! (SCARY)

This is my 2 year old niece that came to stay in Utah, by herself for a couple of days.

It was so fun having a cute little girly around.

Memorial Day

We have a tradition of going to Tooele to visit the Marsden line of relatives.

It was sad this year not having Grandpa with us to tell us all the stories and guide us to each grave that needed to be remembered.

My mom and I lucked out and didn't have to wander around the Cemetery too much.

Lastly, even though I don't have any pictures to post, Happy Birthday to my hubby!

He's the best and I'm so grateful to have him by my side as we

go through this adventurous life together.

Baby Kyle

My newest nephew is the cuddliest thing ever! He is such a fun baby and does amazingly well being carted around to his sister's dance competitions. Check out these adorable pictures of him here.

Check out the cutest twin babies right here. They are my adorable nephews (Dane's boys) and they are the chunkiest kiddos ever!

Hope of America - Don't miss it!

This was such an amazing event.

I have to admit that I had never been before. My kids always went to schools that didn't participate, so I never had the opportunity.

Basically schools from all over Utah County come together to present a Patriotic program for parents and the community. Haili participated this year (See her there on the right side of the flag wearing red?).

Throughout the show, there was entertainment on the floor including a 92 year old Dancing Grandma who ended her solo with the splits!!! (I certainly hope to be like her when I'm 92)

The final song was "We can be a light". The kids all had flashlights and it was spectacular to see all the little bright lights that represent our future. Because this event has grown so much, they are having another program tonight at 7:00 @ the Marriott Center in Provo. It is free to the public and a very worthwhile event. My niece and a few of Haili's friends are in it tonight, so we may be there as well. Get there EARLY, it fills up fast and don't worry about feeding your family dinner before. They have lots of yummy food to buy and eat while you watch the program.

Dance competition in Roy, Utah

This weekend's Dance competition was in Roy, Utah. With Solo's on Friday and Teams on Saturday, we opted to stay at a nearby hotel. I took Scot along for a day in the life (or should I say weekend) of a "Dance mom".

He was ready to find out what was so exhausting about two gruelling days in a stinky High School running back and forth to make sure costumes, hair, and make-up are perfect.

His eyes were opened and finally understands why I spend a lot of the day in bed on Sunday trying to recover.

Easter

Easter came early this year! We decorated eggs on Friday, then off to bed for the Easter Bunny. Saturday morning came and my two anxious girls were playing games together until 7:30 (I wasn't getting up any earlier). While they were waiting in their bedrooms, Emma spotted an Easter basket. The bunny had played a trick on them and hid their baskets in their rooms this year!

Squeals of delight were heard throughout the house as they discovered a giant chocolate bunny in their baskets!

We braved the weather Saturday morning and headed over to the Rocky Mountain Mortgage Easter Egg hunt. It was so cold and rainy, yet they were able to round up lots of goodies and prizes from the hunt.

I even participated in the Women's hunt. All these years I've been giving my kids tips on how to get the most eggs and it is a lot harder than it looks. I nearly got trampled by the mob of women! I came away with 8 little plastic eggs (wha hoo!). Totally not worth the trouble!!!!
